I leave in less than 2 weeks for Prague. I feel unprepared only because I've been working graveyards (which you would think would give me all day to prepare and get ready...but all I want to do is sleep) so I'm tired, cold and sore all over. I'm also a little tired of coming home covered in 15 year old muck that spewed from the depths of conduits that I am pulling cable through (although I'm finding some interesting archaic technology that Fantasmic! used back when the show first opened in 1992). I have spent the last two weeks cramped up in tiny little spaces referred to as Light Wells (last night I spent almost a full 10 hours under a rock, but a met many little critters) that aren't big enough to stand straight in...some of them not even big enough to kneel straight in sharing the space with pipes, conduits, lighting instruments, tons of cables, mud and live and dead crawfish. In this tiny space I have to pull cable through conduit barely big enough for the cable, install power boxes and then wire the whole thing together (oh...did I mention I have to do this in the dark with nothing but the light from my head lamp?). It's not incredibly fun but I do actually enjoy the installation process...getting to build the show from the plans to the realization of it all. Prague will be a welcome vacation after we get all of this crap installed...I'll finish installing and wiring then let the others deal with the focus and the rehearsals while I'm off enjoying myself in Prague, Czech Republic.
